Erick Aybar is a Gold Glove shortstop and MLB All-Star with the San Diego Padres.

 

Aybar is an 11-year MLB veteran and made his MLB debut in 2006 with the Angels, although he was signed by the Angels as an amateur free agent in 2002.

 

He won the American League Gold Glove in 2011 and was named to the MLB All Star Game in 2014. He played with the Angels from 2006-2015 before playing with the Braves and Tigers in 2016.

 

He signed with the San Diego Padres at the start of the 2017 season.

 

A career .273 hitter, Aybar has posted a .270 or better batting average in seven of the last nine seasons.

 

Aybar is a native of Bani, Dominican Republic and returns yearly to host an annual baseball clinic for local kids.
